James Janasko

President

Hello, my name is Jim Janasko of Janasko Insurance Agency. My dad started the business in 1954. We originally were out of the Ariel Broadway Hotel building. In 1976 we moved to our current location on 6th and Broadway and have been here ever since! I graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1976. Swimming four years at The College of Wooster, I graduated in 1980 with a degree in Organic Chemistry. My passions are being on my boat in the summertime and fishing out on Lake Erie! Meet James

Michael Janasko

Director of Sales

Hey there, I'm Michael Janasko, the newest member of the Janasko Insurance team with a solid background in engineering and a passion for driving business innovation. Ohio has always been my home, having graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in 2011 with a strong interest in physics and problem-solving. This passion led me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Miami University, which I proudly obtained in 2016.

After graduating, I started designing heavy machinery for a small fabrication shop located in southern Ohio. We specialized in brewery equipment, paper mills and power plants. This hands-on experience provided invaluable insights into industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.

Seeking new challenges and opportunities, I made the pivotal decision to relocate to Cleveland to be closer to my family. In Cleveland, I found my niche in sales and account management, specializing in robotic welding equipment for Lincoln Electric. Over five years, I excelled in this role, leveraging my technical expertise to effectively communicate the benefits of cutting-edge welding technologies to clients across various industries.

Despite my success in the corporate world, my entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to my family's legacy called me towards a new chapter. I saw an opportunity to contribute my talents and expertise in a meaningful way. Embracing the ethos of adaptability and flexibility, I made the decision to transition to the family business, where I now play a vital role in ensuring its continued success and growth.

As I prepare to embark on this exciting new venture, I remain steadfast in my dedication to innovation, collaboration, and service excellence. With a proven track record of achievement and a forward-thinking mindset, I am poised to make a lasting impact in both the engineering and business realms, leaving a legacy that extends far beyond my professional endeavors.

If I am not in the office I am usually tending to my garden, riding my motorcycle or fishing on Lake Erie.

Hi, I’m Mark Janasko, agent at Janasko Insurance Agency. I graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in 2014. I then went on to Ohio University and graduated in 2018 with a degree in Business Management and Strategic Leadership. I started working at the agency right after college and have been here for 5 years! I love riding my Harley Davidson and other recreational vehicles. If you need motorcycle insurance, I’m your guy! I also enjoy fishing on Lake Erie and Friday night concerts at Rocking on The River!

Maria Janasko

Hi! I’m Maria Janasko, agent at Janasko Insurance Agency. I graduated from Lake Ridge Academy in 2017. I was a four year letterman in basketball and a two year letterman in soccer. I then went on to play four years of basketball at The College of Wooster. I graduated from Wooster in 2021 with a degree in Communications, also having finished an Independent Study on women’s sports and their portrayal in the media. Basketball has always been a large passion of mine, therefore I decided to stay integrated into that world by doing live radio color commentating on local radio station WOBL/WDLW.
I am third generation in the insurance business, alongside my brothers Michael, and Mark. I have been here at the agency for 2 and a half years. I enjoy being in the sun, walks on the beach and boating!
